Cash management specialist Volumatic Omal will be launching its new IntelligentCounterCache™ at this year’s Retail Solutions exhibition.  The product is the first of its kind in the world.

Designed specifically to address the problem of accountability in cash capture and transportation, the IntelligentCounterCache™ operates as a stand-alone unit at point of sale which scans bank notes, recognises their value and stores them in a protected, sealed TruPouch™.  The IntelligentCounterCache™ can instantly communicate information from every transaction, creating a continuous flow that is accessible via the internet.

The TruPouch™ itself is a new type of tamper-evident mixed-note carrier and will also be exhibited at Retail Solutions.   Small and lightweight, it is much easier to transport than traditional cassettes and can be collected intact by CiT operators.  Thanks to the information stream from the IntelligentCounterCache™, the exact value of each loaded Trupouch™ is known, so there is no need to do any manual counting.  Each TruPouch™ can carry up to 400 notes, is uniquely identified to complete the audit chain and is 100% recyclable. 

The show’s programme includes a seminar featuring the results of a live trial of the system with two major retailers.
