NEW CASH COUNTER FROM OMAL CASH SYSTEMS PROVES A HIT WITH SUBWAY
The CountEasy™ cash counter from Omal Cash Systems has been successfully trialed by Mike LaSalla’s Subway franchise in Florida, paving the way for more widespread trials that could lead to the product being installed in all branches as standard. After the trial an increase in efficiency and reduction in labor costs and cash shortages were reported, resulting in staff having more time to spend with customers.

The CountEasy™, which is simple to use, accurate and fast, can count daily takings in less than a minute. Designed for small outlets, it has been stripped of some of the functions larger outlets may require in order to provide an affordable option, and is therefore ideal for use in convenience stores, fast food outlets and franchises.
Pre-programed to count both coins and notes in sequence, and with a running total on screen, the CountEasy™ avoids the need for a calculator. Three basic functions are offered: counting till contents, preparing the bank deposit and preparing the following day’s start fund. Lightweight, portable, and both electric and battery operated, each unit can be used anywhere at any time.
General Manager Tom Montgomery remarked, “Cash shortages are a major problem in retail, especially with Subway as we have to keep our labor costs to a minimum. This means every employee has to run the register. The dilemma is that you want to do more cash-ins but it takes so long for employees to count the register. This creates customer service issues, labor issues, and simply discourages cash-ins which leads to more shortages. The CountEasy™ virtually eliminates any reason not to do a cash-in. It’s a no brainer.”
