Volk HRX Vit Lens Delivers Extreme Wide Views

High resolution extreme field indirect contact surgical lens
Mentor, Ohio (April 21, 2009) – For indirect image viewing of the entire retina during vitreoretinal surgical procedures, Volk Optical’s new HRX (High Resolution eXtreme field) Vit Lens offers unmatched imaging.  The super-wide field lens ensures visualization of retinal pathologies to the ora serrata with high index glass construction for crisp image quality.

HRX Vit

For vitreo-retinal surgeons who prefer to conduct surgery with an indirect contact surgical lens and reinverter, the traditional standard has been the 127° field offered by Volk’s Mini Quad and the 134° field of the Mini Quad XL.  With this new lens, Volk has been able to expand the field of view to 150° for even greater peripheral visualization and treatment power at .43x image magnification.

The HRX Vit lens delivers this super wide view without compromising image quality.  High grade, high refractive index glass ensures optical quality.  Volk’s patented double aspheric design maintains linear image magnification and image clarity across the entire field of view.

With a low profile and reduced size housing, the HRX Vit facilitates surgical procedures and instrument manipulation.  The lens is available in either a standard contact option or Volk’s patented SSV® (Self Stabilizing Vitrectomy) design.  SSV lenses contact directly to the cornea, eliminating the need for suture or stabilizing rings and reducing associated patient discomfort and surgical prep time.

See Diagnostic Power of Volk Lenses at SECO

H-R Wide Field Lens delivers detailed pan retinal views
Mentor, Ohio (February 5, 2009) – Volk Optical, the industry leader in aspheric optics, will be exhibiting at the Southern Educational Congress of Optometry, March 4 through 8 at the Georgia World Conference Center in Atlanta, Ga.

HR Wide Seco

For maximum diagnostic power, Volk’s H-R Wide Field provides a pan retinal view not possible with a non-contact slit lamp or BIO lens, as well as a clear view of the entire retina not possible with a mirrored lens.  Distortion-free across the entire viewing area, the lens’ extremely wide field capability provides highly detailed views.

While the contact lens requires the added step of a coupling solution to examinations, it ensures clear visualization of retinal tears or lesions across the entire retinal surface, all the way to the ora serrata.  No non-contact lens exam method is able to achieve this level of image clarity and detail.

Volk’s exhibit at booth 1036 will feature its entire line of diagnostic ophthalmic lenses, equipment, and accessories.  In addition to hands-on demonstrations, show visitors can take advantage of special show incentive pricing and take products home with them with lenses available for purchase.

Volk H-R Wide Field Lens for Laser and Diagnostic Work

High resolution lens allows visualization of details approaching the ora serrata
Mentor, Ohio (May 14, 2008) – Volk Optical, the leader in aspheric optics, has released the H-R Wide Field Laser Lens, a new pan retinal lens for diagnosis and laser treatment.  Its high resolution imaging, coupled with an extremely wide field capability, provides detailed views for diagnostic and laser work.

 HR Laser 2008

The H-R Wide Field’s deep field of view reveals details as far out as the ora serrata and most importantly, is distortion free across the entire viewing area.  The combination of Volk’s patented double aspheric glass design with low dispersion™ glass ensures the highest resolution imaging across the entire viewing field.

This superior viewing power is contained in a low-profile, reduced-size housing to simplify manipulation of the lens within the orbit.  The H-R Wide Field has been compared favorably to the popular discontinued Rodenstock Pan Fundus Laser lens, with an even wider field of view and better image quality.

The lens provides a .50x magnification, and a 2.0x laser spot magnification and is the best choice for widest field diagnosis and PRP laser treatment.  While the H-R Wide Field is a contact lens, requiring the added step of a coupling solution to the examination, it ensures clear visualization of retinal tears or lesions across the entire retinal surface.  No non-contact lens exam method is able to achieve this level of image clarity and detail.
