Volk Recognized for Global Reach
Leading optical company receives state exporting award
Mentor, Ohio (September 10, 2009) – Volk Optical, the leader in aspheric optics, has been awarded a Governor’s Excellence in Exporting Award by Ohio Governor Ted Strickland. The award recognizes Ohio companies who have shown superior performance in exporting, as it is a vital component of the state’s economy.

(L to R)VP of Sales John Strobel and President Pete Mastores receive Volk’s award from Ohio Governor Ted Strickland and Ohio Department of Development Interim Director Lisa Patt-McDaniel.
Volk’s diagnostic ophthalmic lenses, equipment, and accessories are used extensively throughout the global ophthalmic community. The company has formed international distribution partnerships that give Volk strong regional representation and deliver good local sales and service expertise to its customers.
Exports equate to close to 50 percent of Volk’s sales and are growing at a greater rate than North America. This strong international growth is expected to continue as the ophthalmic profession matures in developing areas.
“Volk’s brand image is respected in all countries and considered the number one brand for the products we provide,” said Volk President Peter Mastores. “We can provide the best products for the broad spectrum of examination, therapeutic and surgical procedures.”
