In-Country Sales Manager Strengthens Service in India

(September 22, 2009) – Volk Optical and Keeler, both members of Halma p.l.c.’s Health and Analysis division, have appointed Mahadev Dhuri as India Sales manager for the two ophthalmic companies.  

Based in Mumbai, Dhuri will serve Volk and Keeler customers and distributors throughout India, offering educational and sales support for both companies’ complete product lines. He will work closely with doctors and facilities to help them select, use and install diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical ophthalmic instruments and accessories to facilitate the growth of ophthalmology in India. He will also continue to develop the Indian distributor networks, training new and existing distributors, and increasing the company’s conference and tradeshow presence. 

Dhuri, a trained biomedical engineer, joins Halma from Toshbro Medicals, a leading Indian distributor of German and US medical instrumentation equipment. Prior to that he spent eight years with Larsen & Toubro Limited developing the company’s medical equipment business across western, central and northern India.

Volk Recognized for Global Reach

Leading optical company receives state exporting award
Mentor, Ohio (September 10, 2009) – Volk Optical, the leader in aspheric optics, has been awarded a Governor’s Excellence in Exporting Award by Ohio Governor Ted Strickland.  The award recognizes Ohio companies who have shown superior performance in exporting, as it is a vital component of the state’s economy.

Volk’s diagnostic ophthalmic lenses, equipment, and accessories are used extensively throughout the global ophthalmic community.  The company has formed international distribution partnerships that give Volk strong regional representation and deliver good local sales and service expertise to its customers. 

Exports equate to close to 50 percent of Volk’s sales and are growing at a greater rate than North America.  This strong international growth is expected to continue as the ophthalmic profession matures in developing areas.
