Optiflex® Surgical Assistant and Digital Series Lenses from Volk Optical at AAO

Hands-on demonstrations and special show pricing available at company’s booth

Mentor, Ohio (September 11, 2008) – Volk Optical, the industry leader in aspheric optics, will be exhibiting at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Annual Meeting at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia from November 8 through 11.

The Optiflex Surgical Assistant and Digital Series Lenses

Featured at Volk’s booth, # 1932, will be the Optiflex® Surgical Assistant System for non contact vitreoretinal procedures.  With Volk’s superior aspheric optics, the system delivers the finest imaging of any non-contact system for vitreoretinal surgical procedures.  The systems’ versatile controls allow for precise lens positioning adjustments and focus control.  Swing and pivot mechanisms allow the lens to be moved quickly and easily out of the surgical field when not in use.  The system delivers the best possible views while streamlining surgery and freeing up assistants.

Also featured will be Volk’s Digital Series lenses.  For noncontact imaging with the highest resolution views, the Digital Series includes lenses for both BIO and slit lamp use.  The Digital ClearField and Digital ClearMag lenses deliver an image quality previously unattainable during a BIO exam, resulting in increased general diagnostic capability with a shorter exam time.  For slit lamp exams, the line includes the Digital High Mag® with true 3D views of the retina and disc, the Digital Wide Field® with the widest, high resolution field of view imaging past the vortex, and the Digital 1.0x with a 1 to 1 magnification ratio for easy measurement of the optic disc.

Hands-on demonstrations of all Volk products, including the Optiflex Surgical Assistant and Digital Series lenses, will be available along with special show pricing at Volk’s booth.
