Mentor, Ohio (November 12, 2007) – Volk Optical, the industry leader in aspheric optics, has appointed Terry Cooper European Regional Manager, providing sales and customer service support for Volk’s complete line of diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical ophthalmic lenses, equipment, and accessories.

From his base near Birmingham, England, Cooper will serve customers across continental Europe, including the Russian Federation and Turkey, offering educational and sales support for Volk’s complete product line.  He will work closely with doctors and facilities to help them select, use and install Volk products. 

Cooper brings to Volk a strong background in specialist product sales, with over 25 years in sales, marketing and general management.  Most recently, he served as Sales Manager for desktop scientific instruments manufacturer Millbrook Instruments (Blackburn, Lancashire, UK), developing sales and distribution networks for two of the company’s thin film characterization systems.  Throughout his career, he has also held sales manager position with flow measurement specialists Freeman Technology (Welland, Worcestiershire, UK), specialty chemical and process equipment supplier Brewer Science (Rolla, Mo.), and Malvern Instruments (Malvern, Worcestershire, UK), among others.

The co-author of several published academic papers on spectroscopy, Cooper has earned D.Phil and B.Sc degrees in Chemistry from the University of Sussex (Sussex, UK).  During his time with Malvern, he lived and worked for four years in Germany, managing a subsidiary of the particle sizing measurement company.
