Optiflex™ Surgical Assistant Offers Optimum Lens Positioning
Electro-mechanical system with manual and powered controls provides precision focus for vitreo-retinal surgeries.
Mentor, Ohio (August 15, 2007) – Volk Optical, the industry leader in aspheric optics, has introduced an industry-first lens positioning system, the Optiflex™ Surgical Assistant. Developed with the needs of vitreo-retinal surgeons in mind, the Optiflex allows for maximum control of non-contact lens position and focus for clear, crisp views.

The electro-mechanical Optiflex system has both powered and manual controls for maximum fine focus capability. The simple manual control provides quick focus while the powered foot pedal controls precise positioning for the clearest views. Swing and pivot mechanisms allow the lens to be moved quickly and easily out of the surgical field when not in use. The system delivers the best possible views while streamlining surgery and freeing up assistants.
Compatible with all leading surgical microscopes, the Optiflex connects easily and can be removed for sterilization. Titanium construction ensures long product life, even with repeated autoclave sterilization cycles. An automated or manual Reinverter (ROLS®) option is available.
Several Volk lenses are available for use with the Optiflex system to provide the high optical resolution required for detailed vitreo-retinal work. Volk’s patented double aspheric design and high index glass assure the highest possible optical quality with undistorted views.
Purchasing options are fully customizable, allowing physicians to choose the lens components that suit their individual needs. To request more information or a system demonstration, visit www.volk.com or phone Volk at 1-800-345-8655.
