Surgical Cases Round Up Lenses and Accessories for Sterilization
Durable case keeps vitrectomy lenses, suture rings, and instruments together for autoclave sterilization
Mentor, Ohio (April 17, 2007) – Volk Optical, the industry leader in aspheric optics has developed a new custom case for vitreoretinal ophthalmologists who use Volk’s Autoclave Sterilizable (ACS™) and patented Chalam Self Stabilizing Vitrectomy (SSV®) lenses and surgical instruments. The company’s new sterilization case holds a full set of Volk’s eight ACS direct image lenses, as well as two indirect image ACS lenses, two suture rings, forceps and a vitrectomy handle.

This convenient package organizes all surgical lenses and instruments together in a durable sterilization case which can withstand repeated autoclave cycles for quick in-office turnaround between procedures. The case accommodates ACS direct image lenses in both standard and SSV® styles. Volk’s SSV design holds the lens on the cornea without the need for sutures, reducing surgical prep time and trauma to the patient.
Volk’s forceps and suture rings are constructed of premium surgical implant grade titanium (6AL/4V), a resilient material that can be repeatedly steam sterilized. The versatile design of the forceps can be used to place and maneuver both standard ACS and Chalam SSV ACS style lenses during vitreoretinal surgery.
