In line with Tritech’s policy of continuous product development the Eclipse Multibeam Sonar system has undergone major software and partial hardware redevelopment, which encompasses the following updates:
These modifications take effect immediately and all systems shipped from now on will encompass these changes.
Through the use of Tritech’s true time-delay beamforming and electronic beam steering technology, Eclipse can carry out horizontal and vertical measurements, making Eclipse the most flexible multibeam sonar on the market. Eclipse can be deployed on an ROV at depths down to 1000m both in Forward Looking Navigation and 3D Model View modes.
Applications for Tritech’s Eclipse Multibeam Imaging Sonar include: mattress laying in zero visibility, pipeline inspection, pipeline touchdown monitoring and harbour wall inspection.
If you have any technical queries, please either consult the revised manual or contact support, support@tritech.co.uk. For any sales related queries, please contact sales@tritech.co.uk.

Tritech’s high-technology subsea products were recently deployed in a system used to survey all types of inshore and coastal submarine cables and pipelines in a marine energy project.
Saab Seaeye’s Falcon ROV was fitted out with a Tritech Super SeaKing profiler system to provide high quality cross-sectional profile data of the seabed and underwater ROV positioning of a Tritech Micron-Nav USBL navigation transducer along with pitch and roll sensing, an accurate flux gate compass, a high accuracy altimeter and a pressure sensor for depth.

UUVS, (Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Showcase)
Tritech participated in the annual exhibition at the National Oceanographic Centre, Southampton. UUVS is the exhibition for those involved in the unmanned underwater vehicles industry. The show brings together professionals from industries such as the military, E&P, marine and academia to focus on the cutting edge technologies and developments in this field.
Tritech Sales & Marketing Manager, Malcolm Johnson gave a presentation at UUVS’s ‘Gadgets and Widgets’ workshop. Malcolm described the focus of his presentation:
“Tritech International has contributed to the multibeam revolution; the presentation described how we have harnessed the advances in modern technology and developed industry-leading multibeam imaging products.”
With constant activity at the Tritech stand, Tritech’s real-time multibeam imaging sonar, Gemini 720i continued to excite visitors throughout the show.
Tritech took the opportunity to also launch new products at the show. Two new high-frequency and high-resolution StarFish Seabed Imaging Systems were launched to create a range of StarFish systems. Read more about the new range here.
The show was also an opportunity to promote our involvement in Search & Rescue (SAR) operations. Derbyshire Fire & Rescue alongside LBV provider Seabotix Inc showcased SARbot™, a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) rescue package which includes Tritech’s Gemini 720i and the newly launched high frequency XD side scan sonar, StarFish 990F. Oceans ‘10
Tritech exhibited at Oceans in support of one of its American distributors, Mecco Inc, in their local USA markets. The three-day, academic research show proved very worthwhile for Tritech with lots of visitors to the booth; it was an ideal opportunity to discuss projects and solutions, especially discussing the possible applications for our multibeam products.
