Avire Elevator Technology (Shanghai) Ltd now manufactures TL Jones and E-Motive products on new premises– three times larger than its previous facility – in an industrial hub on Duhui Road, in Shanghai’s Minhang District.

The addition of this new production facility takes Avire’s global capacity to over 500,000 light curtain units per year. The factory also features a brand new lab with a dedicated R&D team to develop new products for the thriving markets of China and the Asia-Pacific region.

Avire’s former factory in Shanghai’s Caohejing area was set up in 1999 to produce TL Jones light curtains. As the company kept growing, it became imperative for Avire to expand its manufacturing facilities.

China is the world’s second largest economy. As the country’s urbanization drive provides sustainable investment and works as a key factor in bolstering China’s growth, new commercial, mixed-use and residential high rises are mushrooming in both coastal and inland cities across the country. China has become the global centre of the elevator industry; 60% of the world’s new elevators are now built in China.

Paul Simmons, managing director of Avire, said: “We are very excited to be moving to this new factory. Over the years we have built up a very strong team in China and we are making it stronger still by recruiting excellent new employees. We have a very well developed sales and distribution network across China and the Asia-Pacific region, and this is bringing us high levels of growth.

“The new facility, alongside our factories in India, Singapore and Europe, gives us the capacity we need to meet our new and existing customers’ needs.”
