Texecom Introduces Next Generation of Ricochet Mesh Technology

Leading security product manufacturer Texecom is launching Ricochet MT2, the next generation of the company’s award-winning mesh network technology for reliable wireless security. Already compatible with the Premier Elite Control Panels and Elite XP-W expanders (V2.00 and higher), Ricochet MT2 brings significant enhancements to the technology that Texecom believes is already more reliable, easier to use and effective over a greater range than any comparable wireless system.

The new technology has enabled the use of multiple expanders, increasing the number of wireless devices that each Premier Elite control panel can support, and wireless keyfobs are now separately supported to detection devices with 25-256 different users available depending on the control panel. Programming and commissioning has been simplified, with setup of wireless devices and keyfobs now done directly via the zone or user menus on the control panel.

A new power saving mode has been added: choosing the ‘Hybrid’ setting will now increase device responsiveness and reduce power consumption, with devices being deactivated when the system or area is disarmed, and reactivate them within a few seconds of rearming via the new ‘Global Poll’ (patent pending) function. The addition of the Hybrid power saving mode also means that the acclaimed dual-technology Premier Elite DT motion sensor now has a Ricochet enabled wireless variant, with support for the rest of Texecom’s range coming soon.

The other major feature that Ricochet MT2 brings is the ability to perform remote monitoring, diagnostics and configuration of the wireless system from a PC. The company’s proprietary Wintex software now integrates with Ricochet Monitor, meaning that multiple wireless networks can be assessed, configured and even output graphical representations of performance for each Wintex profile. The Ricochet Monitor diagnostics package now also displays device zone allocations, making system assessments even easier and more intuitive to use.
