Both companies are subsidiaries of Halma p.l.c., a FTSE 250 leader in specialist electronic, safety and environmental technologies (LSE:HLMA).

According to Jim Ludwig, Managing Director of Texecom, the merger will enhance the long-term prospects for both businesses. “We’re excited to bring such a ubiquitous brand, and robust product offering into the Texecom family. Texecom’s global reach and strong, large-scale UK-based manufacturing operation offer Klaxon enhanced opportunities to grow and improve operating efficiencies. Likewise, Klaxon’s extensive range of signalling equipment immediately enhances Texecom’s ability to offer our customers a fantastic range of signalling devices for everything from residential installations to wide-area notification for applications like oil and gas, military and municipal warning systems.”

The merger is effective immediately, with the Klaxon Signals name becoming a brand under the Texecom umbrella. The Klaxon operations will be relocated into the two Texecom facilities in Lancashire, in the northwest of England. Employees and key contacts for both businesses will be retained.
