As a company Texecom views compliance with regulatory approvals as an absolute minimum requirement for any of its products. As a result, the company is launching new versions of its products that contain major product enhancements, meet the latest international standard requirements, and represent the most significant portfolio upgrade in the company’s history.

The product upgrades include: new energy-efficient control panels and security systems using custom switch mode power supply technologies; processing power upgrades to enhance functionality and enable more rapid implementation of new features for customers; proprietary motion sensor signal processing resulting in a new range of advanced digital detectors for mass-market applications; major upgrades to Ricochet-enabled wireless device capabilities with some exciting announcements coming soon.

The UK’s premier security product manufacturer, Texecom Ltd., based in Haslingden, won three awards at the Yorkshire Productivity Awards 2011. Two were Individual Awards, for Samantha Richards and Mike Howlett, and one was for the company as a whole.

The Awards aim to recognise the value and importance of good productivity practices, particularly emphasising efficiency and ‘lean’ thinking. This enables businesses to maximise their productivity to time and effort ratio, easing burdens on employees whilst increasing output.

Alistair Gladstone, Divisional Director of Yorkshire Productivity, commented:

“Texecom was recognised as a company that has been travelling down the lean productivity road for some years. The tangible improvements achieved as a result, highlighted in their awards entry, were fundamental to their success in winning this award.”

The Individual Awards to Samantha and Mike reflected the real differences they had made to their working environments and business practices. Both have recently completed their NVQ level 2 BIT training courses, making substantial and enthusiastic contributions throughout the programmes and further developing both their learning and application of the productivity skills involved.

Texecom’s company award came in no small part due to their recent integration of Klaxon Signals, a leading audio and visual alarm signalling manufacturer and fellow subsidiary of Halma p.l.c., into their existing set up. Having started the ‘lean journey’ in late 2007 with mass NVQ training for staff, the company had freed up enough space and resources by 2010 that the decision was made to merge operations to improve efficiency and service levels for both Texecom and Klaxon brand customers.

Leading security system manufacturer Texecom has added several new variants to its Premier Elite range of keypads. The new additions are the contemporary Premier Elite LCDLP, the Premier Elite Diamond White FMK (flush-mount) and the Premier Elite Diamond White SMK (surface-mount) keypads.

The new Prestige 360 DT from Texecom is a ceiling mount intruder detector that features both omni-directional quad element PIR and K-band microwave sensing. This gives the detector maximum catch performance and false alarm immunity, even in challenging environments such as partitioned areas, commercial premises and residential housing.

The Prestige 360 DT has a maximum 9.3m diameter detection pattern, which results in over 65m2 of omni-directional coverage under each detector. The product is suitable for mounting up to 3.6m above the ground, and complies with EN50131-2-4 Grade 2 requirements.

Ceiling mount detectors are of particular benefit when protecting areas with ground-based obstructions such as cubicle partitions, shopping aisles and large furniture, or when traditional mounting sites are impractical. The Prestige 360 DT offers full 360° coverage, and the combined dual sensing technology minimises false alarms by processing the signals from both detection methods to confirm an alarm signal.
