Building on the success of the SunTech CT40 spot check device, the new monitor was designed with advanced monitoring features including programmable intervals for BP measurement and patient alarms. The SunTech CT50 is will initially be available in European Economic Area (EEA) member countries.

SunTech Medical Achieves ISO 13485 with MDSAP Certification

Morrisville, NC (November 1, 2017) – Clinical grade blood pressure device specialist SunTech Medical has successfully upgraded its ISO 13485 certification to include the Medical Device Single Audit Program (MDSAP) standard. ISO 13485 with MDSAP confirms that SunTech meets all regulatory requirements in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Japan and Australia for medical device design and manufacturing.

Introduced in 2014, MDSAP certification requires that the recipient pass an extensive auditing process to prove its existing quality management system meets the requirements set forth by governing bodies in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Japan and Australia for the design and manufacture of medical devices.

SunTech Medical Supports UNC PAWS Therapy Dog Training Program

Morrisville, NC (October 18, 2017) – SunTech Medical announced today that it will donate a portion of its veterinary vital signs monitor sales to the UNC Peer Assisted Wellness Support program. UNC PAWS is a shelter-to-pet recovery program, associated with the University of North Carolina, which trains therapy dogs for adoption by individuals living with chronic health conditions. For every Vet20, Vet25 and Vet30 monitor sold in North Carolina through December 2017, SunTech Medical will donate $100 to the organization.

All potential UNC PAWS therapy dog candidates are selected from open-admission shelters. After passing basic temperance tests, the dogs are adopted by UNC PAWS and receive training in basic commands to help them become companions to clients. Dogs that complete the program are permanently placed with clients, and help relieve the symptoms of chronic physical and mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression and isolation.

SunTech Medical Receives Third-Party Validation of CT40 BP Spot-Check Device

CT40 passes BHS Protocol and AAMI/ ISO Standard for BP Measurements in Adults

Morrisville, NC (September 21, 2017) – The CT40 spot-check device from BP monitoring specialist SunTech Medical has received third-party validation for blood pressure performance as specified by the British Hypertension Society and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation/ International Organization for Standardization.

The SunTech CT40 provides clinical-grade, automated spot-check measurements of blood pressure and other vital signs for patients in hospitals, clinics, ambulatory care, long-term care and low-acuity hospital departments. A modular design allows clinicians to easily customize the device in the field; adding thermometry, Sp02 and Wi-Fi based on the unique needs of the patient and facility.

The study, conducted independently by Dr. Hernan Polo Fritz and the staff at Vimercate Hospital (Vimercate, Italy) determined that the CT40 achieved an A/A grade according to the 1993 BHS protocol, and fulfilled requirements set by the AAMI/ ISO standard 81060-2:2013. The study confirmed the accuracy of oscillometric BP measurements taken by the CT40, and recommend it for BP measurement in adults.

“This study validates the accuracy and reliability of our BP technology,” said SunTech Medical president Rob Sweitzer. “We are proud that our CT40 has received a third-party validation for both BHS and AAMI/ ISO standards.”

SunTech Medical Appoints New CEO Rob Sweitzer

Sweitzer has over 20 years of sales management experience in the medical device industry. Prior to joining SunTech, he was Vice President and General Manager for infection prevention disposables manufacturer TIDI Products (Neenah, Wis.), as well as Director of Sales for Smiths Medical (Minneapolis, Minn.). Sweitzer’s leadership experience also comes from his 25 years of service in the United States Army and Army Reserve, retiring in 2012. Throughout his career, he has lived and worked internationally in Central America and Italy.

“Besides his wealth of experience and qualifications, Rob also has a proven track record at SunTech Medical,” said John Dunne, Sector Vice President of Halma plc, the parent company of SunTech Medical. “I have every confidence that he will successfully lead the company’s global efforts to continually advance blood pressure monitoring technology for customers and patients worldwide.”

As a result of his global experience, Sweitzer, a native English speaker, is fluent in Spanish and Italian, with a working proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese as well as conversational German. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management, and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Spanish and Military Science from the University of Wisconsin (Milwaukee, Wis.).
