Safety Specialists Appoint Chinese Regional Business Manager

Smith Flow Control welcome on board Leo Qi as Regional Business Manager for Asia at its Chinese parent base, Halma China, in Shanghai. Smith Flow Control makes specialist life saving equipment for hazardous operations in the oil and gas and marine industries, manufacturing engineered valve and key interlocks, pig launching systems, actuated valves and lock out/tag out products.

Leo Qi joins the team from his previous position as regional manager at Hamilton-Sundstrand Industrial (Shanghai) Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation, one of the largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products in the world. Before that he gained seven years experience as a Piping Engineer of SINOPEC Engineering Incorporation, the biggest engineering company in the Chinese petrochemical Industry.

Leo gained his bachelor’s degree from Tianjin University majoring in Petrochemical Equipments and Mechanics, and in 2004 he completed his MBA from Tsinghua University.
