Garden Grove, California (October 16, 2017) – To meet conductivity control needs in online water quality and process applications, Sensorex has introduced the Sensorex SensoPro Toroidal Conductivity Monitoring System. The system combines a Sensorex TCS3020 probe, capable of reliable conductivity measurements in even the harshest of environments, with the company’s new EX2000RS transmitter, featuring Modbus communication for robust system integration. Monitoring with SensoPro can prevent scaling and corrosion, reduce excessive water usage, and optimize processes in a range of applications including cooling tower water control, wastewater treatment, brine analysis, desalination, chemical processing, and other harsh or high conductivity environments.

Sensorex SensoPro

Sensorex SensoPro Complete Conductivity Monitoring System includes TCS3020 conductivity probe, and the EX2000RS transmitter.

The TCS3020 probe used in the SensoPro system measures conductivity using toroidal sensing technology, which is more stable and reliable compared to traditional contacting conductivity sensors. Toroidal conductivity sensors do not cause polarization, do not become fouled, and rarely require maintenance. This design, along with the TCS3020’s rugged Noryl-body, reduces maintenance and increases reliability, resulting in more cost-effective operation over time than contacting sensors.

The Modbus-equipped EX2000RS toroidal conductivity transmitter completes the SensoPro system. The unit includes one analog output and can monitor conductivity, percent concentration, total dissolved solids (TDS), and salinity. The RS-485 serial interface with Modbus RTU or ASCII protocol provides multiple output options for integration with industrial automation systems. The onboard screen displays measurements in real-time and is capable of showing up to four weeks of historical measured values. The EX2000RS has a small form factor, an IP65/Nema4X case, weighs just 1.1 pounds, and can be wall or panel mounted.

Sensorex’s SensoPro Toroidal Conductivity Monitoring System is backed by a one-year limited warranty. This system as a whole features a conductivity measuring range of 0.0 μS/cm-2000 mS/cm, percent concentration measurements for NaCl, HCI, HNO3, NaOH, H2SO4, H3PO4, and automatic or manual temperature control. The result is a reliable conductivity and concentration monitoring system, in one simple package.

Universal Differential pH Water Quality Sensors

Sensorex SD7500 works with any existing conventional pH transmitter
Garden Grove, California (June 29, 2017) – Routine sensor replacement is a necessary maintenance step in continuous online pH monitoring. The Sensorex SD7500 Universal Differential pH Probe extends the working lifetime of sensors, reducing maintenance frequency, without compromising accuracy and reliability. Universal compatibility with virtually any brand of conventional pH transmitter enables easy upgrade of existing sensors for industrial and municipal wastewater treatment and neutralization; metal finishing and plating; wet fume scrubbers; chemical processing; and other online water quality and process applications.

Universal pH replacement sensor

The SD7500,a universal differential pH replacement probe, is accurate and reliable, with extended sensor life.

The SD7500 probe measures process pH differentially with three electrode sensors: a process pH electrode, a pH reference (actually a second measuring pH electrode in a known pH 7.0 buffered cell solution protected by a replaceable salt bridge reference junction), and a titanium ground electrode. The result is a highly accurate differential pH measurement that is virtually unaffected by ground loop measurement errors.

The three electrode design, coupled with durable Ryton® Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) body construction, resists process contamination. The double junction construction of the replaceable salt bridge further guards against fouling, even in highly aggressive chemical environments. Automatic temperature compensation with an accurate Pt1000 RTD ensures pH measurement accuracy over a wide temperature range.

Differential pH sensors are designed so the double junction salt bridge and the buffered reference cell solution can be replaced in the field by on-site operators, at a much lower cost than total sensor replacement. Compared to conventional combination sensors, differential pH sensors provide measurements of greater stability, over longer periods of time, with less downtime and maintenance. Typical sensor service lifetime ranges from 3 to 5 years.

With a self-powered preamp and combination sensor output, the SD7500 Differential pH Probe can be used with most conventional online pH/ORP transmitters and controllers. This enables drop-in replacement in existing process installations, as well as easy integration into new systems. Manufactured in the USA, Sensorex’s SD7500 probe is backed by a two-year limited warranty.

Pool and Spa Sensors for Water Quality Monitoring

Ready pools, spas and aquatic attractions for the summer season with Sensorex pH/ORP probes
Garden Grove, California (March 22, 2017) – As the weather warms and pool equipment is being readied for the new season, replacement of pH and ORP sensors is a crucial part of the maintenance process. Monitoring water quality with Sensorex’s cost-effective pH and ORP sensors impedes algae growth, reduces surface erosion and increases swimmer enjoyment.

pH and ORP Probes

The Sensorex S465 Series are a direct replacement alternative to Acu-Trol® pH and S420 Series replace Strantrol® pH and ORP probes.

The Sensorex S465 Series are a direct replacement alternative to Acu-Trol® pH and ORP probes, and the robust S420 Series replace Strantrol® pH and ORP probes. In addition to a reasonable price point, both Series are easy to integrate into existing systems and offer long, reliable service life. Sensorex’s advanced sensor technology delivers accurate measurement over a range of 0-14 pH or +/-1000 mV for ORP. Sensors use a higher volume of Sensorex’s proprietary polymer sensor reference gel for longer service life.

Proper disinfection of aquatic environments is a delicate balancing act. Over-chlorinate and cause bather discomfort and equipment erosion; under-chlorinate and increase the risk of illness, odor and discolored water. But identifying correct chlorination levels is difficult to determine. Water quality can fluctuate quickly based on the number of swimmers and the sweat, dirt, oils, and sunscreen they introduce into the water, as well as the level of biological contaminants like insects and leaves. Even temperature plays a role, as some bacteria thrive at temperatures above 80-90°F.

In addition to continuously monitoring pH levels, measurement of Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP), is one the most reliable and efficient ways to ensure the effectiveness of a sanitizer, such as chlorine, in pools and spas. ORP levels indicate effective chlorination concentration for killing off bacteria and preventing organism growth.

Both the S465 Series and S420 Sensor Series employ a ½” NPT connection for easy in line installation or use with existing Acu-Trol® or Strantrol® flow cells, without modification. The S465pH and ORP models are supplied with a BNR connector for quick connection to an aquatic controller, while the S420 models are available with the option of 30 inch or 10 foot cable lengths for easy integration into existing systems. Advanced signal shielding reduces noise for more accurate communication with process control systems.
