Cosasco Announces New President, Michael D’Anzieri

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. (November 17, 2015) – Pipeline corrosion monitoring expert Rohrback Cosasco Systems has announced its new president, Michael D’Anzieri. Former Cosasco president Brent Ford has taken a position on the company board as Vice Chairman, and will continue to support the company’s progress.

In his new role, D’Anzieri will be responsible for leading Cosasco and its subsidiaries by providing strategic and tactical direction. He will drive sustained growth through continued development of the company’s range of transmitters, data loggers, probes and sensors used to monitor internal pipeline corrosion rates.

D’Anzieri has 30 years of experience in the pipeline industry. He joins Cosasco from sister Halma company Smith Flow Control, where he was one of the original founders and current president. He has a degree in economics from the University of Portsmouth (Portsmouth, UK). Besides English, D’Anzieri speaks fluent French and Italian.

Downhole Corrosion Monitoring from Cosasco at ADIPEC 2015

(November 3, 2015) – Pipeline corrosion monitoring expert Rohrback Cosasco Systems will display its DCMS™ downhole corrosion monitoring tool and wireless system at the ADIPEC 2015 exhibition, hall 4, stand 4210. The show takes place from November 9-12 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates).

The DCMS is a tubular electronic instrument that uses a Cosasco electrical resistance probe to determine the rate of metal loss caused by corrosive environments inside downhole tubing. It is the only tool available that provides corrosion rate data from inside downhole tubing to test the efficacy of corrosion inhibitor treatments and ensure reliable operation.

The DCMS is constructed from corrosion resistant 17-4 PH stainless steel and designed to withstand temperatures up to 302°F (150°C) and pressures up to 10,000 psi. Its 90-day battery life allows enough time to accurately evaluate corrosion inhibitor effectiveness.

New protocol supports more wireless devices, featuring longer range and broader compatibility

(June 30, 2015) – Cosasco has expanded the functionality of its CWT-9020 wireless water system corrosion monitor for electrically hazardous areas by offering ISA100 Wireless communications protocol. Along with WirelessHART 7, the new protocol option allows the transmitter to seamlessly integrate with an even wider range of existing wireless systems.

ISA100 Wireless supports more wireless devices and provides an effective wireless range of 1500ft (450m). Multiple Corrater wireless transmitters can be combined with wireless extenders to form a network of up to 500 devices. In addition, ISA100 Wireless gives users the flexibility of choosing either star or mesh network topologies.

The CWT-9020 uses linear polarization resistance technology designed for use with LPR probes in water systems, and is ideal for water treatment systems or industrial cooling towers. The transmitter uses patented high frequency measurement on two electrodes for compensation of solution resistance that delivers high accuracy and a wide range of operation. The CWT-9020 is CE compliant and ATEX/IECEx Zone 1 Certified for hazardous operation and has an allowable operating range from -40°C to +70°C.

Enhanced resolution measurements allow timely response to corrosion rate spikes

Sante Fe Springs, Calif. (May 7, 2015) – The new Model 4020LT-A two-wire transmitter from Cosasco provides enhanced resolution measurements of metal loss due to corrosion inside pipelines. The new transmitter is compliant with all CE, ATEX and IECEx standards, and designed for operation in plant locations with widely separated monitoring points and a preexisting distributed control system.

While similar products only have resolutions of 0.4%, the Model 4020LT-A features measurement resolution to ±0.1%, allowing a timely response to corrosion rate spikes. The transmitter has an available NEMA 4x rated stainless steel enclosure for reliable operation in harsh environments. A switchable probe type selector allows users to easily adjust between different Corrosometer® electrical resistance probe types.

The unit provides isolation between the probe and the 4-20 mA circuits required to power the loop, making it intrinsically safe to USA, Canadian and European standards.
