New temperature and humidity sensor for construction and energy-saving applications

Wireless telemetry specialist Radio-Tech has developed a battery-powered temperature and humidity sensor for internal and external applications.

dualsense is available in three versions: internal and external (reading both temperature and humidity), as well as surface (reading only temperature conducted through a wall). The sensor “chirps” every five minutes, transmitting its data to Radio-Tech’s RT:Wi5 data hub (or a modbus receiver); the information collected is then sent directly to the relevant server.

Aimed at the construction industry and energy consortiums, dualsense was originally designed for the Energy Saving Trust. The product supplied to that body correlates measurements of internal and external temperature and humidity, along with wall surface temperature, to evaluate the insulation of new housing.

Since dualsense’s transmitter is radio-based and needs no connection to mains power, the sensor can be installed very easily. The unit is powered by a lithium battery that lasts up to three years.
