Perma Pure to Feature Fuel Cell Humidifiers at Germany’s Hannover Messe

Toms River, NJ (February 5, 2008) – Leading gas conditioning products manufacturer Perma Pure will display its FC™-Series fuel cell humidifiers along with its MD™-Series and PD™-Series gas dryers at the Energy exposition of Hannover Messe 2008, April 21-25 in Hannover, Germany.  The company’s proprietary Nafion® technology, on display in Hall 13, booth G43/4, provides efficient water management and gas sample preparation.

Perma Pure’s FC-Series compact humidifiers provide durable, self-contained humidification for mobile, stationary power and portable power applications.  By recovering water from the fuel cell exhaust and transferring it into the incoming gases (air, O2 or H2) by permeation through Nafion® tubing, the self-limiting units can operate without moving parts and do not require any power or controls.  The lightweight devices are available in a range of models which may be used alone or in parallel to accommodate any application size.  Manufacturing advances in molding capabilities have allowed Perma Pure to reduce cost by 50 percent on the company’s FC125 and FC200 Series humidifiers.

The company’s Nafion technology is also useful to dry gas samples for analysis, selectively removing only water from samples gases and leaving the rest of the gas sample unaffected.  Unlike chillers and condensers, Nafion prevents the loss of water-soluble gases through dissolution in condensate.  Perma Pure’s PD-Series and MD-Series dryers operate over a wide range of temperatures, pressures and flow rates, and dry to dew points as low as -45°C to suit a range of analytical applications.
