The latest addition to Klaxon Signals’ Sonos range of fire alarm devices is the 2J Sonos Xenon Beacon, engineered to ensure a flat current and eliminate current surges when the device is switched on. It has a wide operating voltage range of 10-60V DC and its low current consumption makes it ideal for fire alarm applications.

Xenon beacons deliver a greater light output than alternative LED beacons and the 2J Sonos Xenon utilises a full faced, translucent lens rather than a separate add-on beacon, providing a much larger surface area that results in a more effective warning. The beacon’s flash rate can also be selected using a dip switch positioned on the underside of the unit.
The 2J Sonos Xenon Beacon is available with either deep or shallow base options. The base units can be specified in either red or white with a choice of red, amber, clear, blue and green lens colours. For more information about the 2J Sonos Xenon Beacon or other Klaxon products, please visit the company website at www.klaxonsignals.com

Signalling Specialist Klaxon Signals has received NF (Norme Française) Approval for its high output multipurpose Nexus fire alarm.

The NF mark is the leading product certification mark in France and guarantees that the standard compliance of the Nexus alarm has been assessed and certified by a third party, the AFNOR*, a world class standardisation, certification and training organisation. This is the first NF approved high output sounder/sounder-beacon in the French fire market. The Nexus is suitable for both commercial and industrial applications. Products in the Nexus range are available as sounders, or sounder-beacons featuring an LED light source and high sound outputs of 105dB and 110dB are available to overcome most levels of background noise. The Nexus alarm is also water and dust proofed to IP66 for heavy industrial or outdoor applications.
All Nexus connections are made to the base and the head “clicks” into place, ensuring a fast and reliable installation. Additionally, the head is fixed by quarter turn fasteners rather than four individual screws, resulting in further time saving and also accurate seal compression for weatherproofing.

Klaxon Signals has introduced a low-voltage AC version of the multi-purpose Nexus sounder for use with applications that have a low voltage AC supply.

In general, low voltage AC signalling products between 24-48V AC are not readily available in the industrial market, so Klaxon’s Low Voltage Nexus can meet the demand and provide signalling for applications including cranes, conveyors, moving machinery and process control alarms.
Products in the Nexus range are available as either a sounder or sounder-beacon with red or amber LED options. The Nexus combines a powerful 110 dB sound output and high efficiency LED beacon to create a powerful audio-visual warning signal. The Low Voltage Nexus is also water and dust proofed to IP66 for heavy industrial or outdoor applications.
All Nexus connections are made to the base and the head “clicks” into place ensuring a fast and reliable installation. Additionally, the head is fixed by quarter turn fasteners rather than four individual screws, saving more time and providing accurate seal compression for weatherproofing.

Klaxon Signals has developed an all encompassing range of industrial warning devices to meet the needs of specialised applications in all industrial environments. The range varies from traditional robust motor driven sirens to the more sophisticated electronic sirens and serves to notify personnel of any changes in the immediate environment such as potential hazards.

Klaxon’s motor driven siren range is rugged in construction with a high sound output to overcome most levels background noise such as that generated in mining and quarrying applications.
With advancements in siren technology, electronic sirens have been introduced to the market in the form of the Nexus industrial sounder. With a choice of 110dB and 120dB sound outputs, IP66 protection, 3 alarm stages, and 64 tones, these sirens can be used in a variety of general signalling applications. Combined sounder beacon units are available for compliancy with the Disability and Discrimination ACT.
For visual signalling applications, Klaxon’s industrial beacons provide effective warning by diffusing a greater spread of light. Beacons are fitted with either LED or Xenon beacons and are available with varying light outputs of 5J, 10J and 24J.
Klaxon’s industrial products are used in conveyors, cranes, moving machinery, as process control alarms and in marine and general signalling applications. Whatever the requirement, Klaxon Signals has a signalling device.
