German-based TÜV SÜD has certified that the mGard range meets rigorous safety standards, meaning customers around the world can install mGard with peace of mind.

Certified Fire-Proof Multi Rotation Handwheel Interlock

The MRL Multi Rotation Lock from Netherlocks has been thoroughly tested and awarded the Fire Test Certificate according to ANSI/API and ISO standards. This means that customers can be assured that even in the event of a fire it will continue to function safely as intended, and will not cause additional disruption to the normal procedure of operation afterwards.

The interlock was subjected to temperatures of nearly 1000°C for around 20 minutes, and after cooling back down functioned correctly to safely lock and unlock the handwheel valve according to specification.

The test, performed by Yarmouth Research and Technology, LLC, found the MRL to be compliant with ANSI/API Standard 607 Sixth Edition – 2010 and ISO 10497:2010. During the test the lock was burned with one key in the lock; after cooldown the lock remained securely locked unless both keys were inserted, whereby it unlocked and operated smoothly as intended.

Netherlocks’ MRL is an interlock for multi rotation handwheel -operated valves. Following the interlocking principle, it only allows the handwheel to be turned when two keys are inserted into the lock, ensuring that it can only be operated when it is safe to do so. For example, key 1 might only be released when a relief valve has been opened, thus making it safe to close the main process valve. Once closed, it will release key 2, which can then be used to unlock the next stage of the operation, ensuring compliance with safe procedures.

Sensorex has expanded its S8000 series modular electrode platform with the addition of the S8075CD in-line pH electrode and S8075CD-ORP in-line oxidation reduction potential (ORP) electrode. The new electrodes make it possible to integrate the S8000 platform and its modular capabilities into a standard ¾” flow through ‘Tee.’ Typical applications include water/wastewater monitoring, chemical storage, food and beverage production, PCB etching, boiler control, aquaculture, and other process environments where accurate pH and ORP monitoring is essential.

The S8075CD and S8075CD-ORP electrodes were designed for low cost, non-temperature compensated in-line measurement. With integral ¾” NPT threads, the design is compatible with any standard 3/4” flow through ‘Tee.’ Sensorex’s flat surface sensor technology delivers accurate measurement over a range of 0-14 pH or -1999mv to 1999mV for ORP. With a temperature range up to 100°C and pressure rating of 0-100 psig, the S8075CD is suited for both challenging and light duty applications.

With Sensorex’s S8000 series modular pH and ORP platform, users save time and money by configuring a custom system that can grow and change with process needs. Starting with a choice of a pH or ORP (Redox) electrode, users continue customizing with the choice of mounting hardware for in-line or submersion applications. The mounting hardware selection allows for optional automatic temperature compensation (ATC) as well as a stainless steel pin to address ground loop interrupt. The platform includes a variety of electronics options including unity gain pre-amplifiers and blind 4 – 20mA transmitters. If monitoring needs change, users simply update the applicable module without replacing the whole system and only need to stock one sensor for a range of installation considerations.

OceanView displays and utilises spectral data from Ocean Optics spectrometers with the added flexibility of integrating temperature, voltage and other input data, allowing users to capture and visualise data from multiple sources. In addition, OceanView saves and reloads previous experiments and has a persistence of settings feature that conveniently recalls acquisition parameters and file locations. Users can customise the OceanView interface once and later access those same settings without having to rebuild them with each new session.

Inspired by customer feedback across a variety of applications, OceanView delivers a high level of experimental control. Its schematic view – a flow chart with each step of the process represented – functions as both a blueprint of the data process from inputs to results and a tool to inspect and modify the process on the fly. It delivers results in the form of an answer, rather than just a simple waveform. More than 70 schematic nodes, or connection points, can be mapped in the schematic view. Other experiment control functions such as spectral splicing, interpolation and device output control are available.

Memco’s E-Series reduces installation time for engineers as no setting-up or configuration is required.
