With eight to ten hours of battery life, the MB series mass flow meters quickly and accurately measure pressure, temperature and volumetric flow in addition to mass flow. The portable meters can be used to easily verify proper operation of flow meters and flow controllers from any manufacturer, instantly take measurements in the field, and to quickly test for leaks in multiple processes or systems. Powered by a standard 9 volt battery, the lightweight MB series meters fit easily into a pocket or work bag.

In permanent installation applications, the MB units may also be hardwired or wall powered, with the battery serving as a backup during power loss to maintain critical operations monitoring.

Alicat’s patented laminar flow differential pressure technology delivers highly accurate results with a much faster response time than that of competing technologies. Devices come pre-calibrated (NIST traceable) for Air, Hydrogen, Helium, and Argon as well as 16 other gases and 10 gas mixes.

The integrated digital display enables the MB series to operate simply as a standalone device.  Users can change the configuration of the meter without the need for computers, complicated software or scripts.

SpectroCam is the world’s first fully configurable MSI camera. Its wideband imaging sensor is responsive from the visible through near infrared spectrum. Precision filters and imaging optics can be customized for a variety of applications with image speeds of up to 30 fps at full resolution. Images from the eight different filters can be acquired and saved at a rate of three full image stacks per second. The optical filters are easily changed in the field and can be constructed to end users’ desired specifications including narrow bandpasses, wide bandpasses and edge filters. By selecting discrete filters in and around spectral areas with the most significant differences, SpectroCam creates images that show vivid contrast not detectable with the human eye.

The new SpectroCam analysis software has a simple, intuitive, graphical interface that allows users to quickly perform a host of image processing and analysis functions. Results can be viewed as live image output or saved to a variety of image file formats. The software processing is a powerful tool for fully extracting MSI information and can even create colorized NIR images. In addition, the analysis portion of the software provides live, quantitative information regarding image intensity as a function of spectral wavelength for a user defined image area or image cross section.

The standard F-Mount lens configuration accommodates a range of lens choices, focal lengths and fields of view. The SpectroCam can also be easily mounted to a variety of imaging equipment including microscopes and endoscopes. The new image processing software allows users to perform dozens of calculations, manipulations and measurements of live images to further enhance the MSI results.

SpectroCam makes multispectral imaging accessible to everybody from university researchers to high volume OEM equipment makers. The interchangeable optical filters and continuously rotating filter wheel overcome many of the shortcomings that prismatic and tuneable filter MSI systems face. With interchangeable filters, users can try many filter options to narrow in on the best contrast, greatly reducing development time and allowing users to bring products to market faster.

Flo-Tel™+ has recently been upgraded from an IP65 rating to IP66, and can offer temperature monitoring when used in conjunction with the Radio-Tel™ wireless transmission system.

TL Jones India opens new factory and office in Thane

In response to increasing demand within the Indian elevator industry, protection and information system specialist TL Jones has opened a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Thane, Maharashtra. The factory has a production capacity of 70,000 light curtains a year and is located in TL Jones India’s head office, along with a service centre and engineering department.

The factory was officially inaugurated on 15 February in a grand opening ceremony, attended by elevator industry veterans and customers: Mr Uday Kulkarni (MD, Schindler India); Mr Partha Gurumoorthy (director – R&D, KONE); Mr Abhijit Dandekar (DGM – Quality, Otis India Ltd); Mr V. Jagannathan (executive director, Johnson Lifts); Mr Amit Maitra (owner, Lerch Bates India Pvt Ltd); and Mr T. Bruce Mackinnon (vice president, Elevator World Inc). A lamp lighting ceremony, considered an auspicious tradition in India when starting any new venture, was followed by Mr Dev Das Goswami, from the Bureau of Indian Standards, cutting a ribbon to commemorate the factory’s opening.

Reflecting on the achievement of this milestone, Dinesh Musalekar, TL Jones India’s general manager, said: “We are very pleased to get our manufacturing set-up closer to our customers to produce global products locally, in order to achieve more flexibility and efficiencies in TL Jones India’s operations. We have already started the production of infrared light curtains and will soon add other product lines to our manufacturing schedule.”

“This is the next step in our commitment to the Indian market,” said Nigel Trodd, Halma Divisional Chief Executive of Elevators, Fire and Security, “and is prompted by robust growth in construction and infrastructure development. Our local capability, led by Dinesh and his team, will contribute strongly to the long-term expansion of the elevator industry in the exciting Indian market.”

As part of an interlock system, DM locks are used to control access to enclosed areas until a safe condition has been achieved. In a typical operation sequence, the key is inserted into the lock and turned; the actuator is disengaged and the door opened. The key remains trapped until the door is closed and the actuator re-engaged. The DMSK2 double door interlock allows up to two trap keys.

The DM module benefits from a revolutionary head design which features a choice of 4 head rotation angles with an adjustment of 360° at 90° increments and 2 actuator entry points. The head, all internal contact components, actuators and keys are constructed using stainless steel. Tested to over 1,000,000 operations, the units have tamper resistant head mechanisms, and require minimal maintenance.
