HWM Radcom launches SoundSens ‘i’ Water Leak Detection System
HWM Radcom has introduced an update of the company’s popular SoundSens correlating logger system, enabling quicker, more efficient water leak detection. The SoundSens ‘i’ system now features infra-red communication, so there are no cables, and set-up and download can now be done without the need for a PC. In addition, cases of loggers can be linked to allow simultaneous set-up and download.

The system features upgraded software and is designed for performance, versatility and speed of operation in the field. It consists of a control unit and corresponding loggers in a sturdy flight case. The number of loggers per unit has been increased to eight and, as there is no requirement for physical connection or a PC, deployment and download is much faster.
The control unit features two quick recording options for day or night and a custom recording option, all simply programmed via a push-button interface with backlit LCD screen. Multiple downloads of data can be stored by the control unit and up to five days of survey data can be stored before download to a PC is required, making work patterns more flexible.
Communication to a PC is via USB or Serial port and, when downloading the data, the software enables separate file storing or file combination according to need. The control unit features a battery low warning and typically has a battery life of two months between charges. The loggers typically have a five year battery life.
