Hanovia Wins Contract To Supply UV Disinfection System For New Hillcrest Aquatic Centre In Vancouver

UV disinfection specialist Hanovia has won the contract to supply UV disinfection systems for the indoor pools at the new Hillcrest Aquatic Centre, currently under construction in Vancouver, Canada.

The Aquatic Centre is being build in conjunction with the adjacent Hillcrest Curling Venue for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games. After the Games the Curling Venue will convert to the Riley Park Community Centre, which will be fully integrated with the new Aquatic Centre, which will include the 50 metre pool, a leisure tank and an outdoor aquatic element.

Hanovia UV disinfection systems are compact and can usually be installed within existing pipework with minimal disruption. The UV lamps can be fitted with an automatic wiper that keep the sleeve housing the UV lamp clean, so the only regular maintenance required is changing the lamp every nine to twelve months – a simple operation that is carried out by on-site staff.
