Exclusive Italian Golf Club And Spa Chooses UV For Pool Water Disinfection

To achieve optimum water disinfection without the unpleasant smells and eye irritations associated with chlorination, the exclusive Riviera Golf Club in Italy has installed a Hanovia UV disinfection system to treat its 80m3 indoor swimming pool and adjoining spa.

The UV system treats 30m3 water/hour, continuously running, with the subsequent injection of 50mg/l of liquid active oxygen. The rules regarding water treatment at private resorts in Italy are different to those for public pools, which still require a small amount of residual chlorination after UV treatment.

The entire treatment system was installed and commissioned by Hanovia’s Italian distributor, Acquatecnica S.r.l.

“Since installation the UV system has been working exactly as predicted and the client is very satisfied with the results,” commented Sergio Morelli of Acquatecnica. “The is no odour and the water is very clear,” he added.

Hanovia UV disinfection systems are compact and can usually be installed within existing pipework. An automatic wiper keeps the sleeves housing the UV lamps clean, so the only regular maintenance required is changing the UV lamps every six to nine months – a simple operation that can easily be carried out by on-site staff.
