Hanovia UV Chloramine Destruction System For Pools Gets French Approval
Hanovia Limited, a world leader in ultraviolet (UV) water treatment technology, has received approval from the French General Health Directorate for its UV dechloramination system for swimming pools. Hanovia is the first non-French company to gain this recognition, and its UV systems are now on the list of approved processes for chloramine destruction.

Chloramines are formed by the reaction of chlorine in pool water with organic substances – such as sweat and urine – introduced by bathers. They are a major problem in modern high-load indoor recreation pools, most of which are not effectively ventilated. The chloramines linger in the air and cause eye and respiratory irritations.
UV is highly efficient at destroying these unwanted compounds, bringing an immediate improvement to the poolside environment. It is also a powerful disinfectant, destroying any chlorine-resistant microorganisms like bacteria and viruses in the water.
Hanovia has now been installing UV systems in swimming pools across the world for 10 years. To date it has delivered over 800 such systems in countries ranging from France, Spain, Portugal, Norway and Slovakia to the USA, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.
All Hanovia UV systems are compact and can usually be installed within existing pipework with minimal disruption. Operation and maintenance is simple and can easily be carried out by on-site staff.
