New Robust Pipe Flowmeter

HWM Hydreka has introduced HydrINS, a robust new electromagnetic insertion pipe flowmeter. The flowmeter builds on HWM and Hydreka’s experience in the field of flow measurement. A combination of design and software ensures quick and simple deployment and highly accurate flow calculation. It is fully submersible, has a long battery life, no moving components and a wide range of applications.

HydrINS

The HydrINS flowmeter features a fully submersible sensor and transmitter and can be easily installed without interruption to flow. The sensor tip is resistant to all common damage and, combined with advanced processing techniques, produces results accurate within ±2mm/sec or ±2% flow whichever is greater. An on-board micro-controller enables a wide variety of sampling regimes to be set to suit applications including tanks, pumping, drinking water network and raw water.

The flowmeter fits a wide range of pipe sizes. It features a purpose designed diameter gauge and algorithmic software which takes account of velocity and profile, enabling simple deployment without requiring multiple measurements. Once installed, it can be powered from an external DC source or an internal battery with over 2½ years life, depending on the sampling regime.

The HydrINS flowmeter is compatible with most major dataloggers including HWM’s range of telemetry and non-telemetry loggers. It enables a wide choice of sampling, average, smoothing and data output scenarios, with all data in engineering units. Fast sampling is available for fast flow variability investigations and burst sampling enables flow quality (noise) measurement.
