Tricia Rich Named Aquatics Customer Service Representative

Erlanger, Ky. (August 24, 2012) – UV disinfection specialist Aquionics has appointed Tricia Rich as Aquatics Aftermarket Customer Service Representative.

In her new role, Rich will be the single point of contact for aquatics aftermarket customers. She is responsible for growing Aquionics’ aquatic business by establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers. Rich will provide aftermarket maintenance support through quotes, processing sales orders and providing order status and procurement functions.

Prior to Aquionics, Rich has held a number of roles in sales and customer support. Her professional experience includes 13 years of customer service and inside sales.

Aquionics’ UV disinfection systems eliminate harmful chlorine-resistant microorganisms while simultaneously improving water quality for swimmers. UV light neutralizes chloramines, the harmful byproduct of chlorine disinfection responsible for strong odors, skin and eye irriation, and damage to pool equipment.

UV Disinfection from Aquionics at WEFTEC 2012

Erlanger, Ky. (August 22, 2012) – Aquionics will display its compact and efficient UV disinfection systems at booth 5921 during the Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC). The show will be held at the New Orleans Convention Center (New Orleans, La.) from September 29 to October 3.

UV disinfection eliminates microorganisms on a cellular level, making water safe for reintroduction into the environment. Aquionics’ systems pass wastewater through closed vessel or open channel configurations, exposing it to light from low or medium pressure, high-output amalgam lamps.

Automatic quartz sleeve cleaning systems reduce maintenance and optimize disinfection. Simple intelligent control software allows facilities to access information on system performance and customize operating parameters to work with plant controls. A Power Stepping feature regulates power to the lamps, adjusting input power as needed for adequate disinfection and efficient power consumption. All systems have been third-party validated and treat a wide range of flows and water quality.

Aquionics Helps U.S. Whitewater Team Train for London

Erlanger, Ky. (August 6, 2012) – Aquionics UV disinfection equipment has helped the U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) in Charlotte, North Carolina, promote safe training conditions for the 2012 U.S. Slalom Canoe and Kayak Team.

The U.S. National Whitewater Center, the training facility for the 2012 U.S. Team, is the world’s largest man-made whitewater river designed with a recirculating water supply. In 2006, it was mandated by the state of North Carolina to provide some type of barrier against pathogens in the water that might come into contact with team members. The USNWC evaluated disinfection products, including chemical disinfectants. The Aquionics system was selected based on its small footprint, easy installation and low maintenance costs.

The USNWC purchased an InLine 18000+ UV disinfection system. Water passing through the Inline 18000+ is exposed to UV light from 18 medium pressure amalgam lamps, which eliminate microorganisms on a cellular level. The system has 20” inlet/ outlet flanges and is equipped with an automatic quartz sleeve cleaning system and UV intensity sensor to ensure proper UV dosage.
