Alicat Brings Low Pressure Flow Instruments to the Gulf Coast Conference

Whisper series low pressure drop flow meters and controllers have industry’s lowest differential pressure ranges
Tucson, Arizona (September 27, 2013) – Alicat Scientific, Inc. will exhibit its Whisper series of mass flow meters and controllers at the Gulf Coast Conference, October 15-16 at the Moody Gardens Convention Center (Galveston, Texas). Visitors to booth 604 will learn how the Whisper Series overcomes the challenges of low-pressure environmental systems to deliver accurate metering and control, saving time and money.

Alicat Whisper

Alicat’s Whisper series mass flow meters and controllers are purpose designed for low pressure drop systems used in the environmental industry

Alicat’s Whisper series digital mass flow meters and controllers accurately and rapidly measure or control the mass flow rate, volumetric flow rate and pressure of process gases with minimal effect on the process itself. Featuring extraordinarily low pressure drops, as low as 3.6 mbar (0.052 psi) at full scale, or 0.018 mbar when fully turned down (200:1 turndown), the Whisper series has minimal system impact, with faster mass flow measurement (<10 ms) and control (<100 ms).

Manufacturers of gas analysis equipment and specialty gas suppliers will be shown how Whisper series instruments eliminate the need for larger pumps or supply sources, higher feed pressures, or increased bottled gas to overcome pressure drop requirements. Complete with 30 field-selectable gas and gas mix calibrations, Whisper series flow meters and controllers can operate as standalone devices or be integrated easily into process control instrumentation. Extensive customization options are available including Class 1. Div 2 ATEX/CSA ratings for use in hazardous environments.

Alicat Backs its Mass Flow Instruments with Lifetime Warranty

Accurate and reliable meters and controllers with industry’s only lifetime warranty
Tucson, Arizona (August 12, 2013) – Alicat Scientific, Inc. has instituted a lifetime warranty for the company’s entire line of mass flow meters, mass flow controllers, liquid meters and controllers, and pressure gauges and controllers.

Instruments purchased from Alicat are covered for the full life of the product against defects in material or workmanship. The warranty covers both parts and labor required for any needed repairs.

“To my knowledge, no other mass flow device manufacturer offers a lifetime commitment on its products,” said Alicat President David Lashbrook. “With over two decades of experience and more than 60,000 Alicat flow devices installed globally, we’re confident in the quality of our design and manufacturing. The units we manufactured ten years ago are still coming back to us for annual recalibrations without any need for repair. Our instruments have repeatedly demonstrated their reliability and durability in a range of industries that require consistent accuracy and long life, such as OEM manufacturing and industrial controls, medical and pharmaceutical processing and testing.”

With the industry’s highest turndown ratio, Alicat’s mass flow meters quickly and accurately measure mass flow, volumetric flow, pressure and temperature. Mass flow devices come pre-calibrated (NIST traceable) for 30 gases and gas mixes.

Alicat Mass Flow Controllers for Vacuum Applications at Intersolar

Tucson, Arizona (June 10, 2013) – Alicat Scientific, Inc., will exhibit its MCV series mass flow controller during Intersolar North America, July 9-11, 2013 at the Moscone Center (San Francisco, Calif.). Used by photovoltaic cell manufacturers to prevent target poisoning in vacuum deposition processes, Alicat’s instruments provide the tight shut-off parameters required to maintain product integrity.

Alicat’s MCV series

Alicat’s MCV series mass flow controller will be exhibited at Intersolar North America.

The Alicat MCV accurately controls gas at full-scale flow ranges as low as 0.5 sccm or as high as 20 slpm with response times of 50 to 100 milliseconds. Its integrated positive shut-off valve provides leak-tight shut-off of 1×10-9 atm-scc/s helium max, preventing contamination of the coating process when no gas is flowing. The MCV’s 200:1 turndown ratio allows manufacturers to cover a wider flow range with fewer pieces of instrumentation. At 1.5 inches deep and weighing just 3 pounds, the space-efficient MCV integrates easily into PV coating systems.

Also on display at Alicat’s booth will be its MS and MCS series of mass flow controllers for corrosive gases, now with compatibility for silane (SiH4) and up to six other aggressive gases. The all-316L stainless steel construction and FFKM elastomeric materials of the MS and MCS series provide metering and control options for the more common corrosive gases and gas mixes used in photovoltaic and semiconductor coatings applications.

All Alicat instruments are based on its highly accurate laminar flow technology, come pre-calibrated for 30 gases and gas mixes, and are backed by the industry’s only lifetime warranty.

To learn more about Alicat’s MCV for vacuum applications, visit Alicat at Intersolar booth 8533.
